Eliza and the Dragonfly is an excellent story to introduce children to the wonders of dragonflies. Extensions can be made as children make a water scope or pond peeper out of a can as done in the story or look at the stained glass like wings of a dragonfly using a magnifying glass. Thanks for another wonderful book from Dawn Publications.

I bought this book for my 5-year old granddaughter. Both of us were entranced with the beauty of the evening pages. When she read the story, she did so with a soft, nighttime voice. We could almost hear the crickets outside in Amy's yard. Very calming and especially good for a bedtime story.

My grandaughter chose this book from the library with great excitement! It was the first one she opened when we got home and she read it through twice, the second time drawing me in. The pictures were amazing! Thanks!.

Marianne Berkes visited Gardendale Elementary Magnet School in Brevard County. Her presentation with our fourth through sixth grade students included a wonderful reading of her "Going Home" book on animal migration. A number of sixth grade students each read a page of the story while the audience viewed the illustrations. Ms. Berkes provided factual information after each student read. This was a very effective presentation that held everyone's interest. The book opens up conversations from kindergarteners to sixth graders. Everyone has something to say about each of the animals! We really enjoyed her visit!

As the fortunate winner of this beautiful, inspiring book I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Dawn Publications! I've always loved John Denver's song and now Christopher Canyon's illustrations make it extra special. The exuberance, warm emotions, and shared joy that shine through the pages give me such a happy feeling. And the fact that three of my favorites--daisies, swings, and butterflies--are included is a fun plus. :)

I nominate Janeen for the Florida Artists Hall of Fame... She has always demonstrated that beats within, a caring heart.

Now I now something of the transcendent moment in her youth that helped her become who she is. How sweet that her good work returns her to the talent of Peter Yarrow in such a personal way. Was meant to be, when Lindamae Benevides created that event.

Thanks for sharing...

This book makes me want to join a bee hive! The language is so rhythmic and playful that it's hard to believe that science could be made so lyrical. And the illustrations are lush and inviting. The perfect marriage of writing, illustrations, story and informaiton!

My kids won't put down the BLUES. They LOVE the pictures and quips. Even the kindergarten students, most of whom cannot read complex text yet, laugh and laugh when they look through the book.

I teach high school Biology. I LOVE your books! I read them to my classes every year. They do a great job putting together everything we have learned all year. It also helps to address the resistance I get when we study evolution. I know you geared the books to middle school, but they are great for my high school students. Thank you for creating these books!!!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Burgan
