About Earth Heroes: Champions of the Ocean, Fran Hodgkins says, “Writing this book was a thrill for me, because so many of these people are my own heroes,” She combined her love of the ocean and her ability to write and became a writer. Shes written 20 books for young readers, most of them related to science, nature, or animals. A native of Massachusetts, she lives with her family and pets in Maine, not far from the sea.
