The day after graduating from art school, Katherine was hired as a scientific illustrator and graphic artist for NOAA. Creating illustrations of seals, whales, dolphins, crab and fish for marine biologists.

Her illustrations were recognized by the Smithsonian Institution and given a National Award for a historical poster celebrating the 125th anniversary of NOAA Fisheries. Since 2001 she has been on contract with the Smithsonian creating illustrations for the National Zoo and a logo for the American Art Museum. River Song is Katherine’s first book with Dawn Publications.
