From Lava to Life, along with Born With a Bang, were two important sources for information and inspiration in my upper elementary classroom over the past two months. We hosted an Evolution Museum in which my students produced large-scale paintings of single-celled organisms that were inspired by Dana Andersen's artwork in the book. There's simply nothing I can find published that has the impact of these books for children as they learn.
